Family Law Firm Serving the Legal Needs of Local Families
Family law cases can be intensely personal. Making the decision to get divorced, establish yourself as a legal parent, or initiate child custody proceedings can start a life-changing series of events. When you are involved in a family law case, you need an experienced and compassionate lawyer to get you through a difficult time. The Cusic Law Firm, P.C. is dedicated to meeting the uniquely individual needs of each client and their children or family.
No two family law cases are exactly alike, just as no two families are exactly alike. You have your own personal needs, and so do any children involved. This is why we approach each new client's case individually to develop a customized legal strategy that gives you the best odds of a positive outcome. Our skill in mediation can often lead to peaceable resolutions even in otherwise contentious cases.
Practice Areas
Divorce
Ending a marriage is never easy. Whether you have been married for three months or thirty years, dividing your marital property and addressing any child custody concerns can be complex. We offer mediation services to help divorcing spouses reach an agreement on these issues wherever possible, but we are unafraid to fight for you in court if the need arises.
They gave me hope and knew exactly what I was going through.
They changed my life, without putting an end to my financial health!!!
MEDIATION
Mediation can be a wonderful way to resolve divorce issues while minimizing conflict and avoiding the disruption of close community ties. Even if you and your spouse do not intend to stay friends, you may be surprised at how effective mediation can be. Most cases are resolved through meaningful negotiation and mutual agreement and we encourage our clients to reach those agreements. Unfortunately, not every divorce can be resolved in mediation and litigation is more likely. For those divorcing an abusive, mentally ill, drug or alcohol addicted spouse, or a spouse that refuses to make an agreement, going to court may be the best way to protect your interests.
Child Custody & Support
CHILD CUSTODY
When you became a parent, your world started to revolve around providing the best possible life for your children. When you and your child's other parent are getting divorced or separating, you will need to have a custody and visitation schedule established. Our lawyers are skilled at helping parents make a plan for co-parenting after they split.
CHILD SUPPORT
All children have the right to be supported by both of their parents, regardless of who has custody. The first step to seeking child support may be establishing paternity if you were not married when your child was born, or your rightful demand for child support may be incident to a divorce action. Whatever your circumstances are, we will defend your child's right to receive the financial support they need.
