Houston Black Divorce Lawyer
How To File For Divorce?
The Cusic Law Firm, P.C. is led by Dessiray W. Cusic, an experienced family law attorney. As a Black woman and longtime divorce lawyer, Attorney Cusic thoroughly understands the issues Black families in the Houston area face. Whether you are seeking to end your marriage, prepare for marriage with a prenuptial agreement, or establish paternity as unmarried parents, being represented by an attorney who has lived the Black experience can help assure that your specific legal and cultural needs are being met.
Dessiray graduated from law school in 1992, at a time when Black women were tremendously underrepresented in the legal field. She knew immediately that family law was her calling, and she has been practicing in this field since she passed the bar exam. For nearly 30 years, she has honed her skills in cases involving child support and custody, divorce, adoption, LGBTQ+ family law, and more.
About Attorney Dessiray W. Cusic
In addition to being certified by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in Family Law, Dessiray is also a certified mediator. She focuses on resolving family law disputes and concerns through alternative dispute resolution techniques such as mediation and negotiation. While her skills as a mediator allow her to peaceably resolve many family law cases, her talent for courtroom advocacy is equally unmatched.
Dessiray shows her commitment to personalized service by providing each client with her personal cell phone number so that they can always reach her. The families she serves are her top priority. She is deeply dedicated to seeking out the best possible outcome for every client in every case.
She graduated from the University of Houston College of Law and immediately began her work in family law. Today, she continues to attend frequent educational seminars to stay up-to-date on ever-evolving family law issues.

Like Attorney Cusic, she is committed to providing the outstanding customer service that each family deserves.
Serving the Black Community's Family Law Needs
Our goal is to serve members of the Black community in a variety of family law cases while combatting any form of discrimination in our court system. As a law firm of Black women, we believe that we are in an excellent position to give back to our communities by advocating for the social needs of Black families while working to resolve their family law concerns.

Our mediation-based approach can help keep divorce and child custody cases amicable, preserving close community ties for all involved.
The Cusic Law Firm, P.C. believes in the importance of keeping a close working relationship with each client in order to better understand their needs.
